The Nuggets might have clinched the championship ring. Jimmy Butler and Miami, however, did not go down without a fight. Both teams struggled to shoot from beyond the arc. The Nuggets made only 5 of their 28 attempts, while the Heat did only slightly better with 9-of-34. Miami’s championship hopes were shattered by the Nuggets’ overwhelming 71-50 rebounding advantage. In the waning minutes of the game, the refereeing was tarnished by a contentious call on a vital Jimmy Butler 3-point shot that, to the dismay of many, was upheld.

Naturally, Jokic again proved to be Denver’s savior. The two-time MVP put on a magnificent effort, finishing the game with 28 points on an effective 12-of-16 shooting, while also grabbing 16 rebounds and handing out four assists. As many fans around the world rejoiced, so did the billionaire sportswear brand Nike. They released an advertisement featuring Nikola Jokic which seems to be shot well in advance before the Nuggets won the championship trophy!

The Twitter account of Ballislife shared the advertisement on their account.

The advertisement follows the classic plot – a guy walks into the bar. The only difference is the fact that instead of the joke ending with an odd, often questionable punchline, it ends with “No Joke.” Amidst the fanfare and the celebrations of Denver’s victory, many in the community felt that the advertisement didn’t hit the right spot or was worthy of such a big occasion.
