Kevin Durant and LeBron James have gone head-to-head against each other many times. And it is always a sight to see two powerhouses of the league going at it in a back-and-forth battle. The two have given the fans a show almost every time they have faced each other. From their Miami Heat and OKC Thunder days to their Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors days, they have had some intense battles. But it has been over four years since the two have met on the basketball court.

The last time James and Durant locked horns was on December 25, 2018, in a Golden State Warriors vs. Cleveland Cavaliers matchup. After almost four years, the two superstars again missed facing each other as James missed the game against the Brooklyn Nets.

Kevin Durant gives major props to LeBron James

After the game, while talking to reporters, Durant spoke about James and was all praises for ‘The King.’ KD said, “He’s obviously a top 2 player to ever play, a top 3 player to ever play the game. So there’s always gonna be excitement when he steps on the floor. And we’ve been around for so long that people seen so many battles between us two at the highest stage.”

He added, “I guess it’s cool that we’re still relevant at an older age and people wanna come and watch us play.”?

Durant and James have known each other for a long time. And apart from their professional competitiveness on the floor, the two have a good relationship off the court.

What’s even more admiring is when a player recognizes another player’s greatness and speaks up about it. That type of sportsmanship displayed by one superstar towards another is always commendable. This was exactly the case during Kevin Durant’s post-game interview.

Despite the absence of LeBron James, the Nets were not able to get another win to make it three in a row. The Los Angeles Lakers came out on top with a scoreline of 116-103. The Lakers shot 40.7% from beyond the arc. The highlight of the game was Anthony Davis‘ 37 points and 18 rebounds performance.?
