The Golden State Warriors held their own against the Memphis Grizzlies in their most recent matchup. Not much was expected from The Warriors, with their key man out with injury. Dub Nation has been plagued by injuries and trade rumors this season. Additionally, The Warriors’ shooting guard, Klay Thompson, received a technical foul for taunting Grizzlies’ Dillon Brooke in the fourth quarter. After the game, the star guard went on to stand by his behavior while addressing the press.

The Dubs had a heated-up Western Conference semi-final against the Grizzlies in the 2021-22 season. The players continued their beef through the summer via Twitter for their Christmas day match-up.

The star shooting guard Klay Thompson received a technical foul for the trash talk. That foul totaled six technical fouls for the team. In a video shared by Warriors on NBCS Twitter, Thompson admitted that he forgot about the taunting rule and said to the press, “It’s always fun to trash talk“. The star guard continued to express how taunting has been part of his game since middle school.

Klay Thompson elaborated further on the foul when he spoke to Sports Center after the game. He said, “They was talking about dynasty and all that, you can’t talk dynasty when you haven’t won before”. He further continued, “I thought that was premature talk”.

In spite of six technical fouls, the Dubs registered an impressive win against the Grizzlies with a dominant 123-109. Jordan Poole stood up for the Dubs with 32 points along with two technical fouls. Thompson supported  Poole with 24 points, 9 rebounds, and 2 assists.

Can the defending champs bounce back?

Currently, in the 11th position of the Western Conference with a 16-18 record, the Dubs are in desperate need of a winning streak. Though the Warriors have a 3-7 record in their last 10, Stephen Curry‘s eventual return would have a positive impact on the team in the coming new year. The Warriors’ Management provided an official update regarding Curry’s injury that he would be evaluated again in two weeks.
