While the world focuses on the masterful performances of NBA superstars on the court, a racist incident on Twitter caught the eye of NBA veteran, Rex Chapman. He has always been vocal about his thoughts and opinions, specifically on Twitter. However, the latest incident left him stunned making him go on a rant after watching the video.

Chapman came across a video of a FedEx worker keeping his composure during a racist encounter in Douglasville, GA. The former Charlotte Hornets guard joined the world in voicing their displeasure after watching the video. While the FedEx worker received praise for keeping his composure throughout the incident, the person shouting at him was met with widespread criticism.

I would not have the restraint. It’s a luxury to never have to deal with this particular sort of ignorance,” Chapman tweeted after trying to find out who the person was. He continued, “Everyone gets mad. We all say things in the heat of the moment that we regret. But saying something racist when you’re mad isn’t a thing. That can’t happen. If it does – you’re a mo**n. And have big issues.”

NBA veteran echoed the world’s sentiments

Chapman wasn’t the only person slamming the racist guy in question. He received support from the Twitter community as they praised the FedEx worker’s calmness. The video’s ending also impressed Chapman.

The FedEx worker casually asking the racist guy “what’s up” left Chapman in splits.

Chapman even mentioned how he felt bad for the dog in the video. “I feel terrible for the guy’s dog. For real. He’s gotta live with that guy,” he tweeted.

Rex Chapman is no stranger to controversies

From slamming Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban to ridiculing little kids for their celebrations, Chapman is no stranger to Twitter controversies. He is a very active entity on the social media platform and continues to give his opinions on anything and everything.

However, in terms of his on-court accomplishments, Chapman is most famous for trash-talking the legendary Michael Jordan and dropping 39 points with MJ as his primary defender during the Chicago Bulls‘ historic 72-10 season. He played in the NBA for 12 years for four different franchises.

Despite Chapman being a polarizing figure, he earned applause from everyone for once.
