The Chicago Bulls legend Scottie Pippen stirred quite a controversy recently with his comments about his Bulls teammate. When Pippen painted the great Michael Jordan as a “horrible player,” the stage was set for the controversies to storm in. While Pippen gets mauled by almost everyone else on the internet, another one of his Bulls teammates has taken a stand for him.
It is worth noting that Pippen’s comment referred to MJ before the Bulls’ super team was formed. Despite that, calling him “horrible” in any sense of the word is a sin in the NBA world. Amidst heavy criticism coming his way from the rest of the world, his teammate from the first 3-peat recently defended his comments.

Pippen’s comments have not been received well at all. The fans are calling him bitter and jealous while tearing him down for the comments on Jordan. Pippen won 6 NBA titles, and it is well known that those championship runs were spearheaded by the great man himself. However, Pippen’s contributions on the roster cannot be diminished. It does seem like the Bulls legend has gotten fed up with being referred to as a second fiddle to the GOAT. Whatever the case might be, the 57-year-old has attracted enough negativity toward himself with his comments.
Amidst the lack of support, Pippen’s teammate Stacey King has taken a stand for the 6x NBA champion. King was with the Bulls during their first three-peat of the NBA championship. In fact, Pippen’s comments came out on Stacey King’s Gimme The Hot Sauce Podcast. The ex-teammate of Pippen defended him for his comments on the Bulls’ legendary coach Phil Jackson and their greatest athlete, Michael Jordan. He said, “I think no matter what he said…It’s a lightning rod because it’s coming from Scottie Pippen.”
He added that Pippen said a lot of other valid things as well, but the two words stuck with people more than anything.

Pippen, during his appearance on the show, said that he has seen MJ’s game before the Bulls super team came into existence. He said, “He was a horrible player, he was horrible to play with. He was all one on one and was shooting bad shots.” Although these comments concerned MJ before the mighty Bulls team, statistically, they were proven wrong by MJ fans on the internet. Pippen had to face the brunt of countless fans and even some well-known NBA experts.
