After his recent successes on the court, Denver Nuggets’ Nikola Jokic now has an off-court victory too. The Serbian sensation and his wife have successfully given birth to a baby girl. It was a momentous occasion for the player, before his campaign kicks off with the Nuggets.
Last year, Jokic was unanimously named the NBA’s MVP. He had a phenomenal outing with his franchise, nearly averaging a triple-double. Additionally, he also ranked 1st in the league when it came to PER (Measure of a player’s accomplishments per minute). He single-handedly won the Nuggets multiple games, and carried them very far. And the superstar has returned for his 7th outing with the team, this time after a personal celebration.

At the age of 26, Jokic is relatively young himself. The Rio Olympics silver medalist got married in October 2020, to long-time girlfriend Natalija Macesic. A couple of months later, the couple announced that their first child was due soon. Ahead of the new edition of the league, the couple have given birth to a wonderful baby girl.

On Thursday, Jokic and Macesic officially announced the good news. They have given birth to a young girl, and have decided to name her Ognjena. The name is of Serbian origin, just like the husband-wife pair themselves. This means that the 2021-22 campaign will be the Serbian’s first year playing as a father. He is among some of the youngest fathers to play in the NBA.
