After the deadline for the Los Angeles Lakers ended on Dec 15, they are on a hunt to trade for some players to strengthen their squad. The LA side have been linked to several players like Jae Crowder, Kevin Durant, and Damian Lillard, among others. Apart from that, recent reports have indicated that few NBA executives believe that the Lakers should trade Russell Westbrook and their 2027 and 2029 first-round picks for this Washington Wizards All-Star. The Washington Wizards All-Star is none other than Bradley Beal. Beal, who is currently under a five-year $251 million contract has been speculated as a potential replacement for the California side in exchange for Russ and two other first-rounders of the Lakers’ 2027 and 2029 draft picks, according to several NBA executives.

ESPN analyst, Zach Lowe delved deeper into this matter on his podcast, ‘The Lowe Post’. He revealed that when he enquired about the potential move in the NBA world, some people disagreed with the decision. However, the analyst added that a few other people were affirmative regarding the potential move. Therefore, according to Lowe, he has been hearing quite a lot of excitement surrounding the Lakers’ potential offer for Beal.

From the comments, it could be construed that fans were not happy with the potential move. Most of the comments reflected that it would not be a good move to take a player like Beal with such an enormous contract. In addition to that, they also thought that the multi-time All-Star was not a requirement for the Lakers roster at the time. While others questioned the Wizards’ incentives for accepting such a deal deal.

Currently, Beal is averaging around 22.9 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 5.4 assists. On the other hand, Westbrook has been averaging 14.1 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 7.6 assists.
