During a recent interview, Academy Award-winning actor and director Ben Affleck revealed the experience of meeting his childhood hero. The veteran actor is doing a movie on MJ’s life story named Air. However, Affleck also expressed his absolute disgust for one of MJ’s favorite hobbies, which, unfortunately, he had to indulge in while meeting the NBA legend.

The popular actor-director is on the verge of releasing one of the most intriguing stories from Jordan’s career, his journey to be signed by the popular sports brand, Nike. Affleck has starred in and directed the project ‘Air’, with the blessings of His Airness. However, to get Jordan’s approval Affleck had to go through some tricky pastures, especially a green one with 18 holes.

In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Affleck mentioned how he went to play golf with the Chicago Bulls legend quite a while ago to find out if he’s interested in the story. Additionally, Affleck mentioned how he had to witness a game that he passionately despises. On the other hand, MJ is well-known for his love for golf, therefore the Good Will Hunting actor had little choice.

“I waited for him to finish playing. I don?t golf myself. Because I just feel like it eats people?s lives up,” Affleck said. He further added, “I look at golf like meth. They have better teeth, but it doesn?t seem like people ever come out of that. Once they start golfing, you just don?t ever see them again.“

It seems like the 50-year-old actor had to push through the session just so that he could get some insight into how the NBA legend wanted the movie to be made. Fast forward to now, the movie ‘Air’ is going to be released in the first week of April by Amazon studios. According to the latest details revealed by Affleck, it seems to be a passion project that fell right into place.

Ben Affleck reveals more details about ‘Air’

According to Affleck, the six-time NBA champion had significant inputs into the making of the film. He revealed that the character of Jordan’s mother was played by Viola Davis, after the insistence of the NBA legend himself.?

Additionally, the actor revealed that Jordan mentioned how the role of Nike Executive Howard White was essential to the ‘Air Jordan’ saga. This was a detail that was left out in the early drafts of the film and was later added due to Jordan’s input.
