In 1995, Michael Jordan returned to the NBA after a long hiatus. He broke the news to the world via fax as a document read, “I’m back”. Years later, in 2023, Draymond Green followed a similar approach to notify the public about the return of his podcast,?’The Draymond Green Show’. With the same font and style that Jordan had used, Green took to Instagram to release his version. While the Golden State Warriors bathed in championship glory this off-season, Jordan Poole and Green locked heads during practice. Then, Green threw a punch at Poole. News of the altercation spread across platforms like wildfire. To make things worse, a video of the incident was leaked online. This left a dark tint on the team and tremors of trouble were felt throughout the Warriors organization. Months later, after apologizing and getting back on the court, the four-time champion spoke candidly on his podcast.

When the infamous incident occurred in early October, fans were keen on listening to Draymond’s podcast. They knew that the Warriors’ veteran would have a lot to say. Green seemingly realized that taking himself into consideration would be selfish and disrespectful. Hence, the episode was never released. This incident and difficulties on the contractual end of the podcast resulted in a long break between the release of the new season.
