The Los Angeles Lakers‘ disappointing season has obviously left LA fans frustrated, but can they be secure about the squad’s internal relationship? When Patrick Beverley was traded to the Lakers, fans expected animosity between him and long-time rival Russell Westbrook. As a matter of fact, Beverley thought the same. In a recent interview, the Lakers point guard mentioned how his brain worked during his initial days in LA. His long-standing beef with Westbrook was the perfect recipe for chaos in the already disoriented squad.

Beverley sat down with Kevin Hart for a fun conversation a few days ago and addressed his relationship with Westbrook. The Lakers point guard answered many questions that the fans surely wondered about.

In a recent episode of Cold as Balls on LOL Network, Kevin Hart sat down with the evergreen Patrick Beverley. Amongst many questions, the most interesting one was when Hart questioned Beverley on Westbrook. The comedian specifically asked what he thought about the nine-time All-Star on the first day of practice. With the long-time beef between the two, the Lakers star acknowledged the pressing question.

People don’t know me and Russ have the same, like, strength and conditioning guy,” said Beverley. He further added ” You know, I’ll come into workout 6:15 and Russ’s already there. Okay, you know, we see him there, like is this the time to get his a**?

Beverley joked about his long-time beef with Westbrook and burst out laughing immediately. Currently, their relationship has reached a point of brutal honesty. According to the Lakers point guard, him and the nine-time All-Star are the same personalities, which helps them connect better.

I can tell him[Russell Westbrook] things, other people can’t,” said Beverley explaining the relatability of their relationship. Both the players had ample reason to be conscious about their tussle, as their resentment started way back in 2013.

A brief history of the decade-old Beverley-Westbrook beef

Back in the 2013 playoffs between Houston Rockets and Oklahoma City Thunder, Westbrook suffered a season-ending injury. The injury was caused while Beverley and Westbrook contested for the ball, giving birth to the animosity.
