Although most of the world knows Luka Doncic as a great Dallas Mavericks player, others know him to be a great romantic. Doncic has been in a loving relationship with Anamaria Goltes, his fiancé, for over eight years. 

The couple has a great love story too, which many, perhaps, yearn for. Doncic has time and again reiterated how his fiancé helps him deal with daily pressures. Being a prominent aspect of his life, Goltes has been seen around the circuit often. Now, his fans are eager to find out more about the fashion blogger. 

Anamaria Goltes’ love for sister Pia and inspiration from her father

Anamaria Goltes was born on April 30, 1998, in Slovenia to Matjaz and Maja Bec Goltes. She is close with her younger sister, Pia. Matjaz graduated from the University of Ljubljana, inspiring their daughter to follow in his footsteps. Goltes graduated from high school and enrolled at the University of Ljubljana, where she specialized in the School of Economics and Business.

While residing in Dallas, where Doncic plays for the Mavericks, she continued her studies remotely. She told Cosmopolitan SI that she would log on first thing in the morning after breakfast to submit her coursework and assignments due to the time difference.

Young Lovers in Croatia and a promising modeling career of Anamaria Goltes

Doncic and Goltes first met on the coast of Croatia at the age of 12. Goltes told the New York Post, “We met when we were 12 years old at the seaside in Croatia“. The Maverick star’s young and lively spirit helped him win over Goltes and still attracts her to him today. The couple began dating in 2016 after they arrived in the United States. They pressed pause on their relationship in 2018, but their love never faltered, and continued their romance not long after.

Goltes currently works as a model and a social media influencer with her modelling debut in 2017. She became the brand ambassador for Lisca Lingerie. Soon after, she joined Immortal Models Management and has appeared in multiple advertisements for Slovenian jeweler Zlatarna Celje, as well as on the cover of Cosmopolitan Slovenia.

Goltes announced the debut of her fashion blog in October 2021. She further teased the notion of designing a workout apparel line in July 2020, but there have been no further developments on either venture. She previously told Cosmopolitan SI that focusing on her identity and aspirations was critical to make her relationship with Doncic work, in part because she didn’t want to lose sight of herself.

Doncic and Goltes live together in Dallas, and while she now appreciates the city, it took some time for her to adjust after moving from Slovenia. She told Cosmopolitan SI that she was exposed to a new place and culture, which sparked a new way of thinking. Doncic and Goltes have three dogs: Hugo, a Pomeranian, and Gia, a White Swiss Shepherd. They adopted Viki, a big breed, in February 2022.

As per Goltes, the COVID-19 pandemic allowed her to spend quality time with her fiancé and dogs, which became a silver lining, as they aren’t able to spend too much time together. Doncic revealed in an interview with the Daily Mail UK, that they have a no-shop-talk policy at home and that Goltes isn’t too fond of basketball. However, she can often be spotted at her fiance’s games, cheering him on. 

She wears his jersey number, 77, whenever she is attending his matches. When she is unable to attend matches, she coordinates with her dogs at home and cheers them on with them. 

Doncic and Goltes are a team in many ways. When Doncic’s schedule prevented him from visiting two Slovenian children’s hospitals that he had supported with his foundation in December 2022, Goltes took his place, bringing holiday balloons.

“I hope this puts a smile on their faces and cheers them up. They are brave and strong, so I want them to know that I am thinking of them during the holidays and that I want them to return to their homes as soon as possible,” she told Cosmopolitan SI.

Welcoming baby Gabriela into their world

After 7 years of dating, Doncic popped the big question to Goltes in July 2023, and she said yes. However, the two took another step before they finalized their wedding. In early December 2023, Doncic and Goltes announced the birth of their first child together. “Gabriela 💕!” they captioned the photo of their baby girl on Instagram, also revealing her name.

It’s unclear when the couple’s daughter was born, although Doncic missed the Mavericks’ game against the Memphis Grizzlies in Dallas on December 1, 2023, to be present for his daughter’s arrival.

Goltes and Doncic are a couple we read about in fantasy tales. Despite a slight hiccup, the two are stronger than ever and continue to grow their family.
