Given the superstardom of LeBron James, it is safe to assume he has played a hand in some major trades. Notably, he is also criticized by a lot of fans for wielding his powers wherever he plays. Now, a former teammate of James has joined the Los Angeles Lakers and the fans are not happy. The Lakers are all set to take on the Minnesota Timberwolves in the play-in tournament. A win against the Wolves will clinch a playoff berth for the Purple & Gold. Moreover, the new recruit once allegedly had an affair with Wolves star Karl-Anthony Towns’ girlfriend.

The Lakers looked like they were going to miss the playoffs for a second straight year. However, there is still hope as they clinched a play-in spot by finishing 7th in the Western Conference.

Tristan Thompson reunites with LeBron James

Ahead of the important matchup, the Los Angeles Lakers have secured the signing of Tristan Thompson and Shaquille Harrison to provide some cover. Thompson played a huge role alongside LeBron James for the Cleveland Cavaliers making four straight NBA Finals and winning the title in 2016.

After leaving the Cavs in 2020, the Canadian was a bit of a journeyman and was released last year by the Chicago Bulls. He recently made his basketball analyst debut on the NBA on ESPN show and has been making regular appearances. While the veteran is not at his best anymore, his experience could come in handy.

The Lakers announced the signing of Thompson via Instagram and his ex-girlfriend Khloe Kardashian showed her support by liking the post. Also, Rob Kardashian liked the post and re-shared the exciting news on his Instagram story. But it looks like some fans are not happy with the move.

A lot of fans were not impressed with the signing. Many fans noted that the Lakers should have gone for DeMarcus Cousins or Dwight Howard instead. Notably, Howard played a decent part in the Lakers’ ring in 2020 during his second stint. However, his third stint during the 2021-22 season was not great.

Also, some fans wondered why the Lakers signed Thompson despite having Mo Bamba on the roster.
