NBA legend Michael Jordan has been through a lot during his career in the league. But losing his father must be the hardest. His father, James Jordan Sr., and mother Deloris were the cornerstones of his life. Ever since Michael and his siblings were young kids, their parents always made sure they attended their kids? various endeavors. Even after MJ made the league, they tried to attend as many games as they could.?

Everything was going well for MJ. He had just won 3 straight titles with the Chicago Bulls. But everything changed on July 23, 1993, when James Jordan Sr. was murdered. His body was found 12 days later. Deloris and the family were shattered.
As per reports, two young men, close acquaintances with criminal records, were charged with murder: Larry Martin Demery and Daniel Andre Green, who the authorities at the time said had used a phone from Jordan?s Lexus and had been connected to recent robberies. Demery was 17 at the time of his arrest and Green was 18.
Deloris Jordan had a heartwarming response after finding out the age of her husband?s murderers. She said, ?Two boys who didn?t know love?. Not everyone could go through something as traumatizing as her husband?s murder and have this type of response.

Moreover, Deloris began to reach out and help other kids and their families. She says there are three words that aren?t spoken enough today: ?I love you.? She wants to remind parents to say these words to their children daily. In her work with ?under-served? families, she observed that ?I love you? is not said nearly enough.
Michael Jordan retired from the NBA and came back
On October 6, 1993, Michael Jordan, 30, announced his retirement from the NBA sighting loss of motivation to prove something as a basketball player. He said, “It’s not because I don’t love the game. I love the game of basketball… I just feel that, at this particular time in my career, I have reached the pinnacle of my career.”
He added, “I have achieved a lot in that short amount of time, if you want to call it short. But I just feel that I don’t have anything else for myself to prove.”

During the prime of his NBA career, MJ called it quits and pursue his dream of playing baseball. But the dream was short-lived. In the 1994-95 season, he made a comeback. He played 17 regular-season games and lost the Eastern Conference Finals to the Orlando Magic.?

However, Jordan showed the world what he?s capable of the very next year in his first full season back. MJ and the Bulls won the title that year, beating the Seattle SuperSonics. Furthermore, Jordan won the Finals on father’s day. The Bulls continued and made it a three-peat. And Michael Jordan cemented his name as one of the all-time greats of the game.?
