The Los Angeles Lakers have remained one of the most distinguished franchises in the NBA throughout its history. No stranger to the constant demands of a new NBA season, the Lakers reinforced their roster in the off-season. The front office added much-needed quality to complement the duo of LeBron James and Anthony Davis. One such off-season signing by the franchise was Russell Westbrook.

Westbrook has experienced a tough start to his NBA season with the Lakers as the team started their new campaign in dismal form. Westbrook bore the brunt of Lakers fans for the franchise’s woes. His recent comments to ESPN on his ambitions to win a championship incensed Lakers fans.

Westbrook also rubbished comparisons to NBA great Allen Iverson. He said, “I feel, myself — always trying to fit in to do the best for the betterment of the team. And I’ve always done that in my career, and I’ll continue to do that and whatever happens, happens. If we win a championship, cool. If we don’t, I’m OK with that too and life goes on.
