It has been almost a week since the All-Star Weekend entertained NBA fans with a boatload of razzle-dazzle. The three-day grand affair was attended by thousands of fans who were eager to witness the Team LeBron-Team Giannis faceoff. Several days after the most-awaited matchup concluded, Jayson Tatum, Ja Morant, Luka Doncic, and Donovan Mitchell got together for an ESPN interview. During the sit-down, the Boston Celtics superstar politely spouted out harsh facts about being a beast on the court, in front of his league rivals.
This year’s All-Star event was the first occasion where both teams’ captains drafted their respective rosters only hours before the game began. LeBron James chose to go with Joel Embiid, Luka Doncic, Kyrie Irving, and Nikola Jokic. Whereas, Giannis Antetokounmpo selected Jayson Tatum, Donovan Mitchell, Ja Morant, and Lauri Markkanen. While the majority of fans were probably expecting Team LeBron to lift the trophy, it was Team Giannis’ Jayson Tatum who led his squad to victory and became an All-Star MVP for the first time.

On February 24, Malika Andrews of ESPN interviewed ‘Future of the NBA’ representatives Donovan Mitchell, Luka Doncic, Ja Morant, and Jayson Tatum together for the first time. Given that it was effectively a ‘once in a lifetime’ type of situation, Andrews asked them if there was anything they wanted their fellow athletes to know about each other. The first player to reply was 4x NBA All-Star Tatum.
Tatum said, “In a way, like, I appreciate all these guys. In a sense, they bring the best out of me. You know, we all are around the same age and the things they, you know, do on and off the court raises, you know, my level.”
“And you know I got nothing but love and respect for them, but when we like play against each other, I’m trying to kill ’em,” the Celtics superstar sternly added with a blank expression on his face.
