Victor Wembanyama was scheduled to head to the United States for the upcoming NBA draft. This meant that his time in France was limited. He wanted to give fans one last show before his departure.
Unfortunately for Wembanyama fans, that could not come to fruition as his team was handed an early loss in the five-game series. The finals between Boulogne-Levallois and Monaco were shifted from an arena that could only accommodate 4,000 fans to one that could fit 14,000 people.
Unfortunately for those 14,000 fans, Wembanyama and his team could not manage to extend the series as Monaco won the French title. After the loss, Wembanyama said, ?I’m sorry for the fans who love to see a show.?
He went on to give credit to his coach with whom he managed to make it to the finals. However, the 7?4 giant was certainly not satisfied with the outcome.
