Who is Dennis Rodman?Â  Dennis Rodman is a former NBA player, known as one of the greatest rebounders ever. He was the 27th pick in the second round of the 1986 NBA Draft. Rodman played with tenacity and aggression which became a staple of his personality. He is a 5x NBA Champion to go along with various individual accolades. Caulfield/WireImage) Dennis Rodmanâ€™s Early Life Born on May 13, 1961, in Trenton, New Jersey, Dennis Keith Rodman is the son of Philander and Shirley Rodman. When he was just 3, Dennis&#8217; father deserted the family, leaving Shirley Rodman with the responsibility of raising her son and two daughters by herself. They later moved to Oak Cliff, Dallas, an impoverished community where Dennis and his sisters attended South Oak Cliff High School. Debra and Kim Rodman were athletic standouts in high school, winning 3 state championships. As he was just 5&#8217;6&#8221; at the time, Dennis Rodman could not start on the basketball team as a freshman.
