The Los Angeles Lakers have found themselves in major trouble, once again. After battling with injuries almost throughout the season, Anthony Davis suffered an MCL sprain in his left knee while playing against the Minnesota Timberwolves. The more terrifying news was that he would be out for at least another four weeks.

So far, everyone has only heard bits and pieces from various sources. Finally, Davis decided to speak up about the incident and his current state.

Anthony Davis reveals his reaction after injury

The Lakers had finally found some kind of a rhythm. They had three straight wins and looked like they would only be improving their record from there. It all changed when they played the Minnesota Timberwolves. Not only did they see the face of defeat, but Davis also suffered an injury that is going to keep him off the court for a considerable amount of time.

The superstar gave a detailed insight on what happened when Minnesota’s Jaden McDaniels crashed into his left knee on Friday. “I just reached a point where it was tough to walk,” he stated. “I had to take a break. … I did hear something pop — and the first thing I thought of was [a major injury]. Which, I was emotional, I was just like everywhere. But like I said, thank God that it wasn’t that.”

What is the health update on the Lakers star?

On Saturday, an MRI revealed a sprain, and a tentative timeline was given about his rest. It’s unfortunate, considering that Davis was already facing plenty of heat from fans and others for not playing up to the mark. The injury did not help his case at all.

At this point, nothing is more important for the purple and gold than his health. They wouldn’t want to push him and make his injury even more severe.

How is Davis doing now? He answered that question as well. “Mentally I’m fine. I’m in a good space. I’m in good spirits, just being around the team. Obviously avoided a major injury, which has kind of got my spirits back up because I just didn’t know.”

The Los Angeles Lakers had the easiest schedule – something they were also bashed for. Yet, they are struggling to call themselves even playoff contenders. It’s true that Davis’ absence can hurt their chances to secure a playoff berth but they did manage to at least get there last season without him too. Maybe the miracle will carry forward until he returns to full health.
