There was a major controversy involving NBA superstar?Ja Morant?after the Memphis Grizzlies game against the Indiana Pacers on January 29. It was reported Morant’s acquaintances aggressively confronted members of the Pacers near the team bus.?According to a report from?The Athletic, members of the Pacers alleged one of Morant’s acquaintances pulled a gun from a moving SUV in which Morant was riding. In the past few days, this has cast a huge controversy on the two-time All-Star. Now, NBA legend Charles Barkley has given his thoughts about the whole ordeal.

Charles Barkley’s advice to Ja Morant

Charles Barkley?joined longtime friend and co-host Ernie Johnson in the latest episode of?The Steam Room?podcast. As soon as the show began, the Philadelphia 76er legend wanted to discuss the controversy surrounding Ja Morant. Barkley could not understand the need to pull a gun after a game. He noted that the Memphis Grizzlies star should be careful and let the people in his life know they are representing him now. The 2000 NBA MVP was worried and warned Morant that these situations could get out of hand quickly.

Barkley said,?”I’ve had this conversation with many of my friends. ‘Yo man when we go out, we can’t be doing this, this, this because it comes back to me.’ But what’s scary, man if you pull out a gun and shoot and kill somebody, it’s crazy. So I just wanna say, yo man take a step back, talk to your dad, talk to your friends, ‘Hey guys, y’all are representing me.'”

The 11-time NBA All-Star expressed that Morant is a $50 million per year player, but he was worried about the star’s future. He also touched on the reports that one of Morant’s friends was banned from the FedEx Forum for a year. However, Barkley said it should be a lifetime ban if the allegations were true. The NBA held an investigation into the issue but could not “corroborate that any individual threatened others with a weapon.”

Ja was not happy with the ban

During the Memphis Grizzlies game against the Indiana Pacers, there was a scuffle between the players. It was close to Ja Morant’s father, Tee Morant, and his close friend Davonte Pack’s courtside seats. As per reports, Pack started walking toward the players, but he was stopped.
