Giannis Antetokounmpo has managed to offend Lakers fans on his trip to Los Angeles. The Greek Freak visited LA with his family to spend some quality time in the offseason.
After dining at the famous Catch LA restaurant in West Hollywood, Giannis was interviewed by TMZ Sports about his experience in the city. Antetokounmpo replied he is a bit overwhelmed by the expensive nature of the place and LA in general.
“Expensive. Expensive. This city is not for me“, replied the 2-time MVP.

TMZ later tweeted that Antetokounmpo has earned about $146 million in his professional career. But even he finds LA expensive. So there’s little hope for the average person.
Lakers fans upset at Giannis Antetokounmpo’s comment
The Boston Celtics knocked out the Milwaukee Bucks in the Eastern Conference semi-finals a few days ago. But Giannis is still in good spirits. Because he just led Milwaukee to a championship in 2021, a feat many thought was impossible.
But Antetokounmpo almost single-handedly carried the Bucks to the championship. In what was an all-time great gargantuan effort, the Greek Freak averaged a staggering 30.2 points, 12.8 rebounds, and 5.1 assists in 21 playoff games.
But the Lakers fans have not much reason to be happy. After failing to qualify for even the play-in tournament with a roster full of All-Stars and future Hall-of-Famers, they are justifiably upset.
Giannis’ comments ended any hope the fans had of bagging him in the future. Therefore, it only fanned their frustrations. Here are some of the more potent reactions:

The Greek Freak loves Milwaukee
The Greek Freak has expressed his love for the city of Milwaukee on multiple occasions. When everybody thought he should leave the small market of Wisconsin to pursue a championship, he showed loyalty and determination for the city and brought home the NBA championship last year.
It is hardly surprising that he would not leave the city anytime soon. During the All-star weekend in 2018, Giannis said, “I love Milwaukee. It’s low-key. I can walk down the road, down the streets without anybody bugging me“.

“I love how quiet and calm Milwaukee is“, he added.
Therefore, it is fairly certain that Giannis will not be wearing purple and gold in the near future.
