Smith has a special interest in the Los Angeles Lakers’ Russell Westbrook and he has mentioned him quite often in recent times. He again brought him up during Game 3, instigating an interesting discussion.?
As per him the best franchise for Russell Westbrook is the New York Knicks. He quoted, ?I?m gonna tell Russell Westbrook right now on national television. I?m gonna show my support to Russell Westbrook?. He added, ?I?d give up everybody for him with the Knicks?.

The ESPN analyst believes that Westbrook is a perfect fit for the Knicks, but he did not continue to explain why.?
Russell Westbrook to the Knicks?
While Stephen A. Smith brought up the possible trade, can it really happen? The answer is yes, but it is a far fetched plan. The primary thing over here is the interests of both teams. While the Lakers have made it clear after a few tries that they will retain Westbrook despite his poor performance. The Knicks also have not shown any interest in Westbrook and are not pursuing him at this moment.
If a trade were to happen, both teams have options available to them to make it possible. As per?the?NBA Analysis website, there are two potential trade packages that can bring Westbrook to Madison Square Garden. First, is the Lakers receiving Evan Fournier, Derrick Rose and Alec Burks.?

In return, the Knicks would?receive Russell Westbrook and a 2027 first-round pick. The other option would be to trade Julius Randle and Evan Fournier.?
Neither Julius Randle nor Westbrook played as was expected from them. Maybe they aren’t a perfect fit for their team and moving to a different team helps their overall game.?
