The Los Angeles Lakers locked horns with the Memphis Grizzlies last time the teams stepped on the court. After two quarters passed by, a significant scuffle broke down on the sidelines which started off with Dillon Brooks and NFL veteran Shannon Sharpe going at each other. The focus soon switched, though, to a major argument between Sharpe and Tee Morant that even required security intervention. Even though the fight is over, Lakers’ LeBron James made it clear whose side he is on.

An argument that started with Shannon Sharpe giving a piece of his mind to Dillon Brooks quickly escalated to Sharpe going at it against the entire Grizzlies bench. Which eventually led to Ja Morant’s father Tee Morant and the ‘Undisputed’ host getting tangled up.

James went to his official Instagram account to clear the air. When the fight took place, James was in the Lakers’ locker room and he sprinted back out to defend Shannon Sharpe. James and the Grizzlies’ Desmond Bane got into it, with Bane reportedly throwing a punch that came two feet short of James’ chin.

After the game, James posted a picture of Sharpe indicating what would have happened if a fight had broken loose.

LeBron and Sharpe go way back

The fight between Sharpe and Tee Morant escalated quickly. So much so that Sharpe had to be escorted off the floor after he got mobbed by the entire Grizzlies bench.

After the game, LeBron James was asked about his views on the entire altercation. James said, “I ride with Shannon 365 days — 366 on a leap year — 24/7. So that’s my guy. I always got his back. And he’s got mine. He can talk with the best of them, for sure.”

Clearly, James and Sharpe seem to be awfully close and have a great relationship with one another. No wonder ‘King James’ sprinted from the locker room to help Sharpe out on the floor.
