During a recent interview with David Walters of ‘People’, O’Neal revealed that previously he considered anger as his superpower, which eventually did more harm than good in his life. His anger spilled over at home if he made any silly mistakes on the court.
However, it changed after his children came into his life. He had four children with Shaunie and one child with his former girlfriend, Arnetta Yardbourgh. O’Neal understood his children never judged him on the basis of points scored on the court.

In the interview, Shaq recalled how he missed his wife and his children after their divorce. He understood the value of the relationship after his wife left withy the kids. “I was a d—head,” The NBA legend added. “You don’t know how good you got something till it’s gone.” The contriteness was apparent in the words of Shaquille O’Neal. The remarks of the Hall of Famer portrayed his feelings of regret.
Lately, the Hall of Famer also expressed his regret in his podcast, where he shared his experience of feeling lonely after Shaunie’s departure. His recent interviews definitely emphasize his yearning for a family life. Thereafter, O’Neal acknowledged he found peace in reconnecting with his children recently.
