For almost the entire postseason, the Denver Nuggets have relied on the Nikola Jokic-Jamal Murray two-man game. But tonight they weren’t the ones who propelled the road sweep. Stepping up when the Miami Heat got close was University of Miami alumnus Bruce Brown. The former Brooklyn Nets forward saved his best for last, scoring eleven points in the fourth quarter. His heroic performance saw NBA Twitter call out his former teammate Kevin Durant, while the Joker admitted his near-rage at the sight of his 26-year-old teammate.
The Nuggets are on the cusp of history after going up 3-1 with the win tonight. They have been the most consistent and well-rounded team throughout the season and Brown’s performance in Game 4 just showed how deeply every player on the roster is invested in bringing the franchise its first championship.

The Miami Heat were within catching distance cutting Denver’s lead down to seven in the fourth. They also had a lob-sided advantage with Nikola Jokic sitting on the bench with foul trouble. It looked like another tale of an inspirational Heat comeback. Yet right on cue, Brown stepped up. The two way-talent scored 21 on the night, seemingly taking over in the final minutes of the game.
He scored with swagger and skill, making almost all the important buckets for the Nuggets. His heat check came when he hit a step-back three over Duncan Robinson to turn the tide of the game one final time. During game time, Nikola Jokic looked baffled at Brown’s shot. But his reaction quickly switched from lost to glee as the loud noise of the net echoed around the Kaseya Arena.
“When he did a stepback three, I wanted to punch him, but when he made it, I was so happy,” said the two-time MVP about Brown’s clutch three after the game.

Kevin Durant got dragged into the conversation as Bruce Brown heated up
Fans blamed Kevin Durant for not wanting Bruce Brown as a teammate in Brooklyn. However, in a very unlikely fashion, the Slim Reaper responded to the claims, calling out Nets Twitter for spreading false narratives. He tweeted, “At some point, nets twitter has to stop making s**t up…I know, I know, I’m soft for this tweet. I’ll delete soon.”

Brown left the Brooklyn Nets last season after averaging a career-high 9 points per game. In an interview on the Dan LeBatard Podcast, the 26-year-old star left the reason for his exit under speculation when he claimed the front office was reluctant in letting him go. This might have opened the doors for Twitter to pass the blame on Kevin Durant.
However, fans are now well aware of the inside drama within the organization. Ultimately, even Durant and Kyrie Irving left Brooklyn this season, blowing up the entire ‘Super Team’ they once assembled.
