Years after the release of the legendary docuseries The Last Dance, Detroit Pistons legend Isiah Thomas still seeks an apology from Michael Jordan. After the release of the docuseries in 2020, it went under the scanner for a lot of controversies. Several Chicago Bulls teammates had issues with their portrayal and representation. Similarly, the 2x NBA Champion called out Jordan in a recent interview and sought an apology for his portrayal.
The NBA world considered the late 1980s Detroit Pistons as the archrivals of the Chicago Bulls. The rough-playing nature of the Pistons fetched them the title Bad Boys Pistons. However, the two times champion Detroit side didn’t have a fairy tale ending, as MJ’s bulls put an end to the dominant Pistons in 1991. Notably, the docuseries dedicated an episode to them and discussed the legendary rivalry.

In a recent podcast episode of Cedric Maxwell, Isiah Thomas opened up about his displeasure with the docuseries. Thomas spoke about the harsh words Michael Jordan used against him in the show. In the episode dedicated to the Pistons rivalry, MJ called Thomas an “As**ole,” and said, “I hate him.” Moreover, the series depicted the bad boys as unruly and lacking sportsman spirit.
Thomas further narrated the consequences after the release of the episode. He added that MJ’s friends and former teammates reached out to him and said, “Jordan didn’t mean that.” However, His Airness never reached out to the legendary point guard. He revealed, “I never heard it from Michael, now I’m hearing from everybody around him.”

Isiah Thomas once again defends the bad boys
Thomas once defended the Pistons after the release of the docuseries. When the series criticized their aggressive approach to the game, he replied with a bold statement. He said, “My teams beat all them. We probably was the best defensive team to ever play in the NBA.” Despite his continued interviews, MJ hasn’t officially replied to Thomas.
