In 1992, Maria Shriver, ex-wife of Hollywood superstar Arnold Schwarzenegger interviewed Jordan. During the interview, MJ answered a variety of questions without any hesitation. Then Shriver wanted to know what is the price of being a role model and being considered a “god-like” figure. ‘Air Jordan’ said that his superstardom takes away his private life and he could not do everything that he wanted to do.
He said that he has to be very conscious of what he speaks and he does because it can be misinterpreted. MJ then talked about his wife asking him the reason behind not going to any movies.

Michael Jordan said that he could not even go to a movie because fans would ask him for autographs. He said, “My wife asked me this once, ‘Why we never go to the movie?’ ‘You know why, you know why I can’t go the movie. Because I’ll never enjoy the movie or enjoy you without someone coming with a flashlight asking me for an autograph. That’s what happened to me last time I went to the movie.'”

However, she is no stranger to superstardom herself. She is the niece of late U.S. president John F. Kennedy. Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver tied the knot in 1986. The 7-time Mr.Olympia champion was already a Hollywood superstar with his debut ‘Conan the Barbarian’ in 1982 and its sequel in 1984. Also, the iconic 1984 movie, ‘The Terminator’, made him one of the most popular stars. After 25 years of marriage, the couple divorced in 2011.

During the interview, MJ also talked about moving away from the spotlight with his decision to retire from basketball.
