After facing flak from players and fans, Washington Commanders owner Dan Snyder has decided to step down as the owner of the football franchise. Soon, an ownership group consisting of Magic Johnson, Philadelphia 76ers owner Josh Harris, and Commanders veteran Robert Griffin III, among others, decided to bid for the NFL franchise. As per reports, the bid submitted by Magic and co. matches the asking price of $6 billion.
Forbes evaluated the organization to be around $5.6 billion last year. However, recent reports have projected that the final price could be over $7 billion.

Being an iconic sportsman, Magic Johnson is not just eyeing the monetary gains from the deal. As a Lakers player, he has won five NBA championship rings. However, Johnson did not stop his pursuit of winning championships.

The saga of Magic Johnson’s NBA triumph in the 80s is one of the most intriguing episodes in the NBA folklore. After his decorated NBA career, Magic went on to win respective championships with the sports franchises he owns. As a co-owner of baseball team Los Angeles Dodgers, the Lakers legend added a World Series title and a Major League Baseball title to his credit. The NBA legend is a co-owner of the WNBA side Los Angeles Sparks, who won him a WNBA title in 2016.
