The previous eras of basketball took a piece of our hearts with them. Right from destructive basketball to off-court drama, the years gone by had it all. Aside from quality, we also had some stars who went onto become eternal icons. The likes of Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Charles Barkley and others defined the sport for tons of avid fans. Another very small, yet distinct feature of the 90s, was its vivid advertisements.

It took many years for basketball to get commercialized to this extent. Earlier, players would do whatever it took to earn the big bucks. Even Jordan, who has a huge net worth now, had an immense workload back in the day. Both on and off the court, he had to uphold his legacy. If winning six NBA championships and making 14 All-star appearances wasn’t enough, he made numerous iconic ads that will be remembered for years. In one such clip, the Chicago Bulls great starred alongside Charles Barkley and some fellow players.

Fans left with mixed emotions after Michael Jordan ad resurfaces

Way back in the 1990s, some of the NBA’s elite stars united for a hilarious McDonald’s commercial. The feature included Jordan and Barkley, along with the likes of Larry Bird, Reggie Miller and more. In the hilarious video, the players are gathered for a match against one another., with the winners taking the spoils; or in this case McDonald’s.  Meanwhile, the animated characters from popular show Looney Tunes join them. Later, it is revealed that MJ was disguised as Bugs Bunny. After the game, the plethora of stars treat themselves to Big Macs.

The commercial brought back so many memories for fans. And NBA Twitter took no time to reminisce the good old days. It was an instant classic, to which 90s fans got emotional. While one fan emoted, “I miss the 90s,” another person questioned, “Now I need to know if this was before or after the original Space Jam.” Here are the best reactions.
