NBA legend Michael Jordan was one of the best players ever and led the Chicago Bulls to six titles. However, he did not have a great relationship with all his teammates. Jordan was known to push his teammates during practice sessions that did not always sit well with his teammates. Also, things sometimes escalated quickly leading to altercations. He had a tussle with Steve Kerr in one instance. But the teammates were able to work past the incident. However, that was not the case with Horace Grant.
Grant played seven seasons for the Bulls and played a major role in winning three titles. Throughout his time with the Bulls, he did not have a good relationship with Jordan.

Things between Horace Grant and Michael Jordan flared up during a plane trip home after a playoff loss in Denver. Grant and Jordan had a poor game. But when MJ was criticizing Grant, the power forward has had enough. As per The Jordan Rules book by Sam Smith, Grant was the first teammate to challenge Jordan. As things escalated between the two, MJ warned Grant would be traded in the heat of the argument.
Grant was a very talented player, however, he felt was not given a big offensive role in the Bulls. He felt he did not get enough shot attempts playing alongside players like MJ and Scottie Pippen. The power forward was convinced he would not get that opportunity in Chicago. Author Sam Smith talked about this in his book. He wrote, “”I know I’ll never get the chance to find out what kind of player I can be here,” said Grant”

After winning three titles with the Bulls, Grant signed with the Orlando Magic in 1994. Much to his disappointment, he did not get a bigger share of the basketball in Orlando. He had to share it with young superstars like Shaquille O’Neal and Penny Hardaway. However, he was an influential figure in the locker room and helped the team with his experience.
Grant’s feud with Michael Jordan
In his book, Sam Smith noted that Horace Grant was someone who always tried to speak his mind and was tired of all the criticism from Michael Jordan. So when the four-time MVP criticized him after the loss against the Denver Nuggets, Grant barked back. The author stated, “”Screw you M.J.,”” Grant shot back. “”All you care about is your points and everyone knows it. You don’t care about anything but yourself.””
