Kevin Durant has been in great form this season so far and could be poised to challenge for a championship this season with the Brooklyn Nets. He is a 2-time NBA champion, which he won back-to-back with Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors in 2017 & 2018. KD first spent the majority of his career with the Oklahoma City Thunder and signed with the Warriors as an unrestricted free agent in 2016.

Durant joined a Warriors team that already boasted top stars such as Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green. Many teams tried to lure the 2014 MVP.

Klay Thompson talks about his initial thoughts on Kevin Durant joining the Warriors

Warriors star Klay Thompson recently appeared in season 4 of ‘ALL THE SMOKE‘. During the show, co-host Matt Barnes asks Klay about his initial reaction to Durant joining the Warriors.

To this Klay replied: “I thought, ‘Oh, it’s over here’. I knew everybody would be so mad.”

“We went from like little darlings in 2015, to like somewhat hated in 2016, but 2017 is just outright pure hate,” he added.

The Golden State Warriors have won four NBA championships in the past eight years with the most recent one coming last season. It was certainly a moment for them to cherish not just one, but all four championships. Two of them came when Kevin Durant played for them, but the Warriors have shown, twice, that they are capable of winning a championship without him.
