Jimmy Butler’s stint with the Minnesota Timberwolves was marked by an infamous incident. In 2018, Butler went for a scrimmage in the Wolves camp, three weeks after he had requested a trade from the franchise. Butler and a group of backup players had then outsmarted the side’s starters in the scrimmages. After achieving the feat, the All-Star Guard had yelled at the then Wolves’ coach Tom Thibodeau and General Manager Scott Layden. Butler had also reportedly yelled at the people who were gathered to see the practice session. Besides, the veteran star had talked trash to his then teammate Karl-Anthony Towns.
In his recent appearance on Podcast P with Paul George,?Karl-Anthony Towns had a free-wheeling conversation with Clippers star Paul George. The Wolves star candidly recollected the infamous scrimmages from the past. The 3x-NBA All-Star shed light on the scrimmages he lost against Butler and how the two got under each other’s skin. “We had a moment when we was arguing with each other. The Wolves star told George and the co-hosts that things got chaotic when Butler unleashed the tirade during the session. However, later on he agreed with PG-13 and co. that the entire episode was blown out of proportion. “That sh*t happens, teammates get into it. I’ve been in practices where guys literally was grabbing each other by the necks,” Paul George said.?“No for sure. I have seen people punching each other and stuff,” Karl-Anthony Towns said.
