Lately, he has been very critical of Ben Simmons’ performances in his Big Podcast.
And it seems like his criticisms might have helped Simmons in some way to improve his game. Considering this speculation, co-host Nischelle Turner asked Shaq whether his criticisms have helped Simmons to up his performance. However, Shaq clarified that he didn’t do anything except state the facts.

Ben Simmons is one of those players from whom fans had a very high amount of expectations, especially after his transfer from the 76ers to the Nets. However, injuries continue to plague him, which have further affected his performance on the court. He currently averages around 9.3 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 5.9 assists.
Shaquille O’Neal rejects Nischelle Turner’s ’empathetic’ take
Ben Simmons’ poor performance drew some criticisms from Shaquille O’Neal too, which further prompted a response from Simmons. These exchange of words resulted in a bit of a tussle between them.
However, Shaq didn’t criticize him last week after he saw Simmons’ gameplay to be improving. Taking this into account, Turner asked Shaquille O’Neal in a recent episode of ‘The Big Podcast with Shaq’ if his words anyhow helped Simmons improve his game. She also added that the empathy shown by him last week might have helped Simmons. But the Diesel quickly dismantled the suggestion, saying, “I don’t use empathy…I speak facts.”?
Subsequently, the Big Aristotle started gagging as if at the mention of the word ’empathy’. In fact, he made sure to clarify that empathy is not his preferred field. He rather chooses mental fortitude and stoicism amid adversity.
