Kyrie Irving has been a constant part of the news cycle since the off-season. It started with him looking for another deal while eventually deciding to stay with the Brooklyn Nets. Following this, Irving shook the NBA World after sharing a link to an antisemitic film on his social media handle. Brands discontinued their relationship with the eight-time All-Star while the league suspended him for a brief period. Fans voiced their displeasure and called Irving out for his alleged ignorance. Days after this, in November 2022, he had to apologize for the same.

In his apology, the Mavs star wrote that he ?had no intentions to disrespect any? culture and noted that he was learning from the events that unfolded. As mentioned in the Bleacher Report, He said, “I am no different than any other human being. I am a seeker of truth and knowledge, and I know who I Am.” A month after, he deleted the post and caused chaos once again.

After his trade to the Dallas Mavericks, several reports claimed that Irving had deleted his apology from his Instagram account. During an interview at the Mavs practice, Kyrie was asked about the same.?

He said, “I delete things all the time, and it’s no disrespect to anyone within the community.” Irving added that he was living his life.?Further, Irving added that he continues to stand by his apology. He said, “I stand by who I am and why I apologized.” The NBA Champion revealed that he apologized because he cared most about his family, many of who belong to the Jewish community.

The Mavs star added that when the issue spread, instead of handling it maturely, he reacted. He concluded and said, ?I stand by my apology and I stand by my people, everywhere – all walks of life.??

NBA Fans stand up for the Dallas Mavericks star

NBA Fans rushed to the comments sections and stood up for Irving. They wrote that it was time that the media left him alone. Fans also urged the reporters to ask him questions related to basketball instead of focusing on his life off the court and the past. Fans stated that people should let Irving move on and failed to believe how a question of such was asked to the eight-time All-Star. They directed their anger toward the reporters and asked them to work on real news. Here are some of the comments:
