Shaquille O’Neal was back with a new episode of the Big Podcast after a two-week-long hiatus. His co-hosts, Nischelle Turner and Spice Adams were also back. The trio spoke about the recent developments across the sports and entertainment industry. While doing so, they also welcomed two-time Super Bowl champion, Von Miller, on the podcast. Miller has signed a new podcast show, The Voncast, with Bleacher Report. Turner made this announcement on the show.

While O’Neal praised Miller for the unique name, Turner urged O’Neal and Spice Adams to give some advice to Miller. She did so because Miller is aiming to be an athlete turned broadcaster – similar to O’Neal and Adams. Following this, O’Neal’s advice also revealed his reaction to the criticism he faced from Los Angeles Lakers legend, Kareem Abdul Jabbar.

Shaquille O’Neal asked Von Miller to simply be himself. He advised the NFL superstar not to be hesitant while giving out information. For O’Neal, giving out information means criticizing. He claimed that Miller has the expertise and experience to voice criticism. The four-time champion urged Miller to not shy from criticizing players thinking it won’t sit well with them.

He then stated that players need to be open to criticism and feedback. He believes that to achieve greatness and make an impact, one needs to take criticism in stride. While talking about this, he mentioned that he wouldn’t have been where he is today if it weren’t for criticism.

The former MVP spoke about an instance when Kareem Abdul Jabbar‘s criticism helped him grow as a player. He said, “The great Kareem Abdul Jabbar said, ‘Yeah Shaq’s great. But what has he done?'” The Big Diesel stated that this is the push he needed to strive toward grooming himself to be a great basketball player. He said, “I couldn’t get b**t hurt.

He reminded Miller not to be afraid. O’Neal said, “Say what you know.” The Lakers legend explained that there will always be those who feel bad and those who don’t. So nothing should stop Miller from voicing his thoughts. He spoke about how proud he was of Miller and wished him good luck.

In the past few years, Shaq has criticized some NBA stars including Kevin Durant, Rudy Gobert, Ben Simmons, and Donovan Mitchell. He has had some beef with a few as well. However, he has repeatedly stated he is challenging and pushing the players to be great with his criticism.
