Although he is yet to make an official debut for his new team, Phoenix Suns?Durant’s transfer caused quite some noise in the basketball community. ?Suns fans received Durant with warmth and showed him love after the announcement was made. However, the news also brought some hostility to Durant’s way, especially from a noted Lakers fan.
Millionaire Rapper serves a reality check to Durant
Rapper and Actor O’Shea Jackson Jr. is the son of Rapper, Actor and Filmmaker Ice Cube of the legendary rap group NWA. Jackson Jr. is from LA, California so it’s a no-brainer that he is a massive Lakers fan. Jackson Jr. was recently on the Rich Eison Show and gave his opinion on this trade. He said, “Kevin Durant, I wish you would have chosen a different purple, but it is what it is.?I’ll see you if there’s a Swagger Season 3, but right now, I can’t stand you. You know how I am”.

O’Shea Jackson Jr. to the Phoenix Suns fans
O’Shea Jackson Jr. also had a few things to say to the Phoenix Suns fans in a similar fashion. He said, “You know how I feel about you, it’s no secret. I don’t like you, you don’t like me. Let’s keep it that way“. It seems that the trade of Kevin Durant was not expected by the Laker fan and he wished Durant would join his team.

Kevin Durant’s salary after the trade
In 2021, Durant agreed to a four-year, $191 million deal which began this season. With three years remaining on his deal, he will earn $43 million in base pay plus an additional $1.1 million in incentives.

Since there is no player option in the contract’s final year, which continues through the 2025?26 season, he will receive $46.4 million in salary plus $1.25 million in incentives. During the 2024?25 season, Durant will earn $49.9 million, which will make him one of the highest-paid players in the NBA. At the end of his contract, he will be earning $53.3 million plus a $1.4 million incentive.
