Griner said, “…I can confirm that today I filed for an annulment. In the week prior to the wedding, I attempted to postpone the wedding several times until I completed counseling, but I still went through with it. I now realize that was a mistake.”

A judge declined her annulment appeal. So they were left with the option of divorce. Then in 2016, Griner and Johnson were finally divorced. Johnson was bedridden during a major part of her pregnancy and gave birth to twin girls 16 weeks premature.
