Ja Morant has been receiving a lot of flak for the past couple of weeks owing to the allegations against him. From Charles Barkley to Shaquille O’Neal, many NBA legends have given their take on the entire situation, criticizing Morant’s actions. The 2019 Rookie of the Year finally found some respite in the form of Stephen Jackson. The former San Antonio Spurs star had recently disclosed that he doesn’t believe that Morant needs to undergo counseling.
Moreover, during a recent appearance on the I Am Athlete podcast, Jackson revealed that he was once involved in a similar situation. However, in his case, he actually used the gun in question.

Jackson reportedly fired some shots in an Indianapolis strip club in self-defense. Following his trial, the court ordered him to pay a fine and perform 100 hours of community service. Along side Jackson, other ex-NBA players like Paul Pierce and Kwame Brown, have stood beside Ja in this difficult time.
There have been similar gun incidents in the NBA
Morant and Jackson are not the only NBA stars to have been involved in a gun situation. Gilbert Arenas was once involved in an ugly situation that could have cost him his entire career.

Arenas and a couple of his other Washington Wizards teammates trash-talked over a game in 2009. The trash talk went over the limits and Javaris Crittenton allegedly pulled up a gun and pointed it toward Arenas.
Interestingly, Arenas had four of his own guns as well. Following this incident, both players were punished and Crittenton never returned to the NBA.
