The Los Angeles Lakers are a team to look out for in the off-season! A few prominent changes in February helped them improve drastically. Though they had a disappointing series against the Denver Nuggets in the Conference Finals, the Lakers will look to bounce back with some major changes in the off-season this year. However, they are not ready to let a 25-YO star go, who many believe is the ‘third-best player’ in the team behind LeBron James and Anthony Davis. 

Recently, reports revealed the chances of Dallas Mavericks superstar Kyrie Irving joining the Lakers. Mark Cuban is not an easy nut to crack, but a recent update increased the possibilities of a potential trade happening. 

Who is the 25-year-old sensation placed close to LeBron James and AD?

The Lakers gave a collective performance, especially in the playoffs. In every other game, different players shone bright to bag crucial wins. However, there was one young guard who was consistent through every game. Coming off the bench, 25-year-old Austin Reaves was sensational this season. In his very second year, fans have already placed him close to the 4-time champion LeBron James and AD. Why is it so? 

Well, Reaves stood up when the Lakers needed someone to step up. Especially in the playoffs against the Golden State Warriors, Reaves made some crucial buckets along with several other stars to steal the series from Stephen Curry. Averaging nearly 17 points in the postseason, Reaves impact was highly felt. Now, the young sensation might benefit hugely from this in a few months. In addition, the Lakers might be able to pull off one of the biggest trades this offseason.

The Lakers continue to keep an eye on Mavericks superstar Kyrie Irving. Everyone is rooting for a LeBron James-Kyrie Irving reunion. Well, there are chances, however minimal. A report revealed Irving does not have a ‘handshake agreement’ with the Dallas Mavericks on the four-year contract. That is great news for the 4-time MVP. Anyhow, the Lakers might have to pay a huge price for it, which could also get James’s approval. 

How can Austin Reaves receive $100 million this offseason?  

Austin Reaves is set to enter free agency. Many believe the young shooting guard can turn things around for the Lakers soon. After his performance this season, especially in the playoffs, many teams have started to target Reaves.

However, the Lakers are not going to let go of Reaves that easy. At the same time, a report revealed that the Lakers are ready to match a massive $100 million ask for the 6’5 star. Moreover, now the Lakers have a better chance at bagging Irving too.
