LeBron James has it all. He has a rookie honor, All-Star appearances, multiple MVP titles, four-and-counting championship rings & successful businesses. However, the importance of each of the mentioned achievements fade away in front of an Olympic medal. Well, Bron has that too.

The Akron Hammer has always done the state of Ohio and the entire America proud. He is the definition of The Great American Dream and beyond that. And a lot of that has to do with his Olympic glory that came in a bundle.

LeBron James and his memorable Olympic appearances

One might not get to hear an 18-YO entering a Team USA Olympic roster unless it is for their iconic gymnast team. However, LeBron James was just 19 when the panel selected him for the 2004 Olympics team. He, Carmelo Anthony, and Dwyane Wade entered as young buds as their team struggled big time on the floor.

As a result, after picking up three consecutive Olympic golds, the USA national team lost the coveted streak in 2004. As Argentina (winner) and Italy (runner-up) shined, a young LeBron was under pressure with the heaviness of a Bronze.

So as a response, just like the 1992 Dream Team led by Michael Jordan, they recreated a team and called it the Redeem Team in 2008. Rest is history.

In 2004, Bron had played all eight games but started in none of those. However, that changed in 2008 when he started every game, averaging 24.8 mins, 15.5 points, 5.3 rebs, 3.8 assists, 2.4 steals, and a block.

That performance bagged them a Gold Medal against Spain and the result repeated in the 2012 London Olympics.

Since then, Bron saw an election in both the 2016 Olympics team and the 2021 team as well but he chose against participating. But he has already achieved all that is there to achieve on the national platform. The L-Train is among the only three players who’ve represented the USA thrice in the four-yearly summer showcase.
