Following a short hiatus from the NBA’s title spots, the Golden State Warriors will be on their marks and ready to rumble in the new season. The past two seasons have been difficult, yet there is light at the end of the tunnel. Steve Kerr and his men will aim to bring back their 2015-2018 form in the upcoming edition. With their star duo of Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry set to reignite their fire, signs are ominous for the rest of the playing field.
But can Klay Thompson return to his best form?

The pressure is on Klay Thompson to deliver
In the last couple of seasons, the Warriors have struggled to build momentum in attack. They have failed to attain the string of points that fans were so used to in their glory days. The moment the Dubs had possession of the ball, fans would fix their eyes on Stephen Curry.

This season, however, a returning Klay Thompson will renew the hopes of Warriors buffs. After successfully overcoming a bunch of injuries, the 31-year-old will don the blue, yellow, and white again.
The key question will be whether or not Klay can strike the right chords immediately for Golden State. That will be the need of the hour, more so, the need of the year for GSW. They will be heavily banking on Klay Thompson to come up with the goods.

How does Thompson’s inclusion benefit the Warriors?
If we were to ask NBA fans to name one consistent player who assisted Curry last season, there would seldom be a common name. Every player in the squad was good in patches, but delivered nothing out of the world. What Steve Kerr’s side needed was someone who had a good rapport with the squad, and could consistently find spaces to nail the baskets. In short, they needed Klay Thompson.

Thompson is an absolute gun of a shooter. No particular range is out of reach for the ace performer. In their prime, Curry and Thompson would combine for over 60 points and make it seem like it was no big deal. The ‘splash brothers’ wreaked havoc in the league for multiple seasons. As a result, this now adds a whole lot of pressure on them. Curry will need to live up to his bidding of being the senior-most veteran in the side. Thompson will have to prove that Golden State duly missed his presence.

Provided they click sooner than later, the Golden State Warriors will be fighting with the top sides for the title. Along with their senior players, the side is looking to bring in fresh talent who can add to the squad depth. Nonetheless, one thing is for sure; Curry and co. will cherish the million-dollar return of Klay Thompson more than anything!
