NBA icon Michael Jordan has some mind-boggling achievements that others can only dream of. Be it in college or in the league, the six-time champion went on to break several records throughout his legendary career. Although today’s game is more high-scoring as compared to the past eras, players may find some of MJ’s scoring records impossible to break. However, a 22-year-old kid from Richmond, Virginia, recently went past Jordan on a revered scoring list. Interestingly, this news emerged on the internet hours after His Airness?made a rare public appearance.
In response to the massive moment, fans took to social media to express their feelings and opinions. Many fans were in a state of shock seeing the 22-year-old surpassing the Chicago Bulls legend.

Jordan played college basketball for three seasons with the North Carolina Tar Heels and ended his college career with 1,788 points. Tar Heels forward Armando Bacot surpassed Jordan in North Carolina’s all-time scoring list during the loss against the Duke Blue Devils on Saturday. Interestingly, the 22-year-old is now sitting in the 14th position on the list, which has Tyler Hansbrough with 2,872 points as the leader.

The North Carolina Tar Heels senior forward is having an incredible season and currently averaging 16.5 points, 10.8 rebounds, and 1.4 assists. Incidentally, Bacot also became North Carolina’s all-time leader in double-doubles and rebounds earlier this season.
Jordan played with the Tar Heels between 1981-84 and won an NCAA title in his freshman year. The 14x-NBA All-Star finished his college career averaging 17.7 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 1.8 assists. Following his stint with the Tar Heels, His Airness?debuted in the NBA and went on to become arguably the greatest player of all time.
