LeBron James recently breached his quiet on Brittney Griner’s detention in Russia. The WNBA star has been detained by Russian authorities for more than 100 days and James believes, if he were Griner, he would question returning to America.

During the most recent episode of “The Shop,” the subject of the detained basketball star came up. The gravity of the situation compelled James to launch a critical statement. “How can she feel like America has her back? I would be feeling like, ‘Do I even want to go back to America?’ James said, criticizing the U.S government.

LeBron James weighed in on the matter. He joined the chorus of athletes who believe the government isn’t doing enough to bring Brittney Griner back home.

Griner was detained at a Russian airport when officials seized vape cartridges with cannabis oil from her bag. She recently pled guilty to the Russian drug charges after being detained for months. The WNBA star is yet to be sentenced; however, if she is, she could face up to ten years behind the bars.

Griner’s wife recently pleaded with the President, Joe Biden. With LeBron James now also stepping forward, the quest to bring Griner back to the States continues.

Brittney Griner has been detained since February, therefore many people have made it their goal to get her home. LeBron James has also joined this group, having demanded that the player’s case be resolved as soon as possible.

He urged the US government to act quickly and bring the WNBA star back safe and sound through social media.

“We need to come together and help do whatever we possibly can to bring BG home quickly and safely!!,?? James tweeted. ?Our voice as athletes is stronger together,? he added.

During the NBA Finals, the Boston Celtics also showed their support for Brittney Griner. The Celtics’ players donned T-shirts that read “WE ARE BG” in Game 2.

Celtics player Grant Williams stated that it was important to display their love and support for their sister and to make every attempt to bring her back.
