“How About a Little Kiss First”: LeBron James, Who Has Been With Wife Savannah Since High School, Once Flirted With Grammy Award Winning Singer on Live TV

LeBron James has been with his high school sweetheart Savannah since the start. The two got married in 2013 and have three children together. But long before the two tied the knot, James once flirted with singer Ashanti on stage during an award show. And the crowd went nuts as they saw it happen. 

It was James’ rookie year in the NBA. And the much-touted high school prospect was invited up on the stage at the MTV awards. He joined Grammy award winner singer Ashanti up on the stage to announce the nominees for the best hip-hop video.

And before you know it, LeBron was getting his flirt on with the singer on stage. As they were up there, LeBron started off by saying, “You s**y in this all pink.” But that’s not all. He continued to flirt with her and said, “Maybe I wanna rock with you someday.” James even invited her to his first home game in front of the crowd. 

Ashanti laughed it off saying it sounds good. The two were having fun with each other on the stage and that’s when James slyly insinuated and said, “You know, I was thinking maybe, you know we could play a little one-on-one too.” Ashanti played along with what LeBron James had said.

The singer then mentioned that maybe they could do that later. But right now they’re here to announce the nominees for the best hip-hop video. However, ‘The King’ clearly did not get the signal as he had something else in mind.

As Ashanti wanted to announce the nominees, James paused and looked over at Ashanti while saying, “How about a little kiss first.” Ashanti was clearly caught off guard and did not seem up for it then. The two went on to announce the nominees for the category.

However, LeBron James wasn’t done and seemed determined to get what he wanted. As the two finished presenting the nominees, the four-time NBA champion wouldn’t let Ashanti announce the winner until he got that kiss. 

When Ashanti told LeBron that they should tell the crowd who won, James stood adamant. He said, “Nah, Nah, I don’t think I should tell ‘em right now you know, not till I get that kiss.” And James held the envelope which had the name of the winner high above his head.

Finally, Ashanti gave in, kissed him on the cheek, and went on to announce the winner.
