The Los Angeles Lakers dropped the ball big-time against the Memphis Grizzlies in Game 2 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs. Despite having no Ja Morant in the lineup, the Grizzlies hustled hard to tie the series at one game apiece. As expected, tempers flared in the game as LeBron James and Dillon Brooks got into it. However, the anger was reserved for the matchup as King James didn’t hesitate to publicly recruit a Grizzlies star for a collab.

The Los Angeles Lakers lost the game to the Memphis Grizzlies with a final score of 93-103. What seemed to be an easy win for LeBron James and Anthony Davis turned the other way around as the Grizzlies scrapped their way to a big win.

Ja Morant’s teammate Desmond Bane had suffered an injury in his right toe which led him to find the perfect sneaker. The Grizzlies’ shooting guard tried every Nike shoe until he landed on LeBron James’ signature shoe.

Given the deal Bane has with Nike, he could not wear any other brand. And the ‘Lebron XX’ were the shoes he found the comfort he was looking for. Though it is an unwritten rule not to wear the signature shoes of your opponent, Bane did not have a choice. Early in a game in January, James noticed Bane wearing the ‘LeBron XX’ in the Heat colorway.

He asked Bane if he needed more pairs of those sneakers. At first, Bane wasn’t sure if it was Bron taunting him or genuinely offering help. To his surprise, James was genuinely trying to help Bane. He even publicly tried to recruit him when he told ESPN after the Game 1 win, “I joked about it a few years ago, like, if a guy’s wearing my sneakers I’m going to have to bust your ass and sh*t.”

LeBron stated that he wanted to send more sneakers to Bane after this. He said, “I got to make sure he’s a LeBron athlete now.”

James had some words for Ja Morant’s teammate

LeBron James trying to recruit Ja Morant’s teammate was only hours before he cussed at another teammate of his. During Game 2 of the matchup, James and Dillon Brooks had a verbal exchange after James hit a fadeaway in Brooks’ face.
