The LSU Tigers are the new champions of the NCAA women?s tournament this year, defeating the Iowa Hawkeyes in the final. A great battle with multiple momentum shifts took place with Angel Reese and the Tigers coming out on top over Caitlin Clark and the Hawkeyes. Reese notched a double-double to help LSU triumph over Iowa. Despite this, Clark did everything in her power, scoring 30 points and grabbing 8 rebounds in the game.

However, Reese was criticized after the game on social media for her taunts at her opponents. NBA legend Shaquille O?Neal came to her rescue.

As the game was about to come to a close, Reese decided to taunt Clark with a series of actions that did not sit well with fans. Many called her out on her ?unsportsmanlike? and ?classless? conduct.

While many tried to drag her down with their opinions, there were a few who justified her actions as well, including Reese herself after LSU?s win when she interacted with reporters in the arena. Another person who came to Reese?s aid was the seven-foot Los Angeles Lakers legend Shaquille O’Neal.

Prominent sports commentator Keith Olbermann also tweeted, ?What a f*****g idiot,? as he referred to Reese and her taunts. Shaq would not have any of it, responding with, ?Shut your dumb a** up leave angel reese alone.?

The four-time NBA champion made sure he got Reese?s back on social media, shutting up haters.

Angel Reese responds to Shaquille O’Neal’s comments

After Shaquille O’Neal backed Angel Reese on social media, the LSU star made sure to give a shoutout to the Lakers icon as well. Reese took to her official Twitter and tweeted, “Yeah my uncle shaq don?t play bout me. period.”

It is nice to see the former LSU alumnus coming to help Reese out after a lot of fans tried to shame her on social media for her actions. Let’s hope that these comments soon stop targeting Reese for taunting Caitlin Clark and fans move on.
