The Los Angeles Lakers have seen their fortunes fluctuate throughout the season. Despite starting the year with a record of 2-10, the team made a remarkable comeback. After vanquishing the No.2 seed and the defending champions, LA’s success story has been disrupted by Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets as they broke the hearts of LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and the Lakers with a pivotal win on Saturday. Staring at a series sweep, the Lakers will need a miracle to recover from the 0-3 deficit. After boastfully predicting LA’s chances ahead of the Conference Finals, Magic Johnson issued a public apology following the Game 3 disappointment.

The Nuggets have managed to capture the attention of everyone. Despite being the No.1 seed in the West, very few people gave them a chance of overcoming LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and Stephen Curry. However, they have proved everyone wrong, including Magic.

Johnson continues to show his unwavering support for the Lakers by attending games and expressing his enthusiasm through social media posts. However, after Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals, the 3x NBA MVP apologized to the Denver Nuggets for doubting their caliber.

Johnson tweeted “I have to apologize to the Denver Nuggets, they proved that they are a better and more talented team in their victory over the Lakers tonight. They put both teams in the Eastern Conference on notice that they are committed to winning a championship!”

The Lakers legend also gave props to Nuggets’

Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray for showing up big in Game 3. Johnson added, “When you have two superstars like Jokic and Murray play at a high level at the same time like they are unstoppable. If they continue that in the NBA Finals, the Nuggets will be world champions!”

Is this the last chance for LeBron James and Anthony Davis?

The Denver Nuggets recorded a convincing victory over the Lakers in the crucial Game 3 of the Conference Finals. This has severely affected the chances of another championship for the star duo of Anthony Davis and LeBron James, who will surely wonder whether they’ll get another chance to win it all. After getting so close, James and Davis will be heartbroken if they don’t add to their 2020 championship.
