When talking about the game’s greatest talkers, a common name mentioned is Kevin Garnett. Whether it be trash-talking his opponents, or hyping up teammates, KG was always there. A staple of Minnesota and a Celtics legend, KG has played with some of the best.

One of Kobe Bryant‘s fiercest rivals, Garnett won a championship with the Celtics against the Lakers in 2008. Soon after, the Celtics made an addition in the form of reliable role-player Jeff Green. 12 years later, Uncle Jeff has a chance to win an NBA Championship with the Denver Nuggets. So, what did Green have to say about the Big Ticket?

With a core that is predominantly ‘young’, Green understands the importance of a veteran presence such as himself. In his 16th season, Uncle has been through all the ebbs and flows that the game has to offer. And his role model? Former teammate Kevin Garnett.

As he reflects on his journey, Green mentions how he was a quiet guy in his initial days in Boston. Further crediting Garnett, he recalls how KG used to push him to talk to the guys and how it instilled that confidence in him.

Now, a valuable cog in the Nuggets rotation, Jeff attributes his “can’t stop talking” nature as a mini-KG. “I can’t stop talking, so I guess to a small extent, I’m like [Kevin Garnett].”?Green now realizes the importance of a vocal leader in the locker room.

I think being vocal is big…He used to tell me all the time, ‘You gotta speak up, you gotta talk. You gotta talk.'”?With the Nuggets losing home-court advantage in the series after their Game 2 loss, it will be up to Jeff Green to revitalize his team for the task at hand.

KG will definitely be supporting Uncle Jeff. Replying back to the post shared on Twitter, Garnett wished Green well and told him to “go get you one.”?The longtime friends and teammates still share a deep admiration and love for one another.

Recently, Garnett also came into the news because of one Chris Broussard. On his First Things First show, Broussard made the claim that Jokic would be ahead of bigs like Garnett, Barkley, and Dirk. Going further, Chris also claimed that Jokic would pass Kevin Durant by the time he was done playing.

With a championship this season, Jokic’s name in historical great players would certainly be warranted. With a resume comprising of a ring, and Finals MVP, along with 2 regular season MVPs, after he’s barely 28, Jokic could certainly reach those lofty heights.
