While the matchups between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Memphis Grizzlies are slowly turning into a rivalry, Dillon Brooks decided to take it to the next level a few days back. After a clutch win over the LA unit, the Grizzlies guard straight up shared a disrespectful claim on the 4-time champion LeBron James. Eager for a reply, however, the King decided to give Brooks a cold shoulder.

Following the ‘honey’ antics from a former Boston Celtics veteran to warn the Grizzlies star, James decided to give an apathetic reply to shut down the media. Seems like game 3 between the two will be a heated one.

Game 2 between the Lakers and the Memphis Grizzlies is everything the fans wanted. Though the result was not in favor of the LA team, fans loved the battle between LeBron James and Dillon Brooks. Securing 28 points and 12 rebounds, James did not have a tough time in the offense while the 6’6 guard defended him. However, Brooks got the best of the 4-time MVP and the Lakers with a clutch triple to even the series.

Following the victory, Brooks who dropped 12 points decided to rise the temperature. When asked about the battle with James, the 27-year-old mentioned, “I don’t care he is old. I poke bears and I don’t respect no one until they come and give me 40,” making a bold statement in the postgame interview.

Ex-NBA star Kendrick Perkins made sure he warned Brooks about the scoring leader. While pouring honey over Brook’s picture, Big Perk mentioned, I don’t even like holding that picture… LeBron James got pride and he [Dillon Brooks] better believe he didn’t poke the bear.” He added, He poured honey on himself, and the bear is coming. Saturday LeBron James is on his way.”

A day after the one-time champion’s weird ‘honey’ antics, James decided to cut short the media after they tried to get a reply from him. The veteran forward mentioned, “I don’t wanna talk about this more. Tomorrow is gonna be a great game. I’m not here for the bulls***. I’m here to play and that’s it.” Seems like the King is least bothered about Brook’s slander.

Will Ja Morant return for game 3?

After sustaining a terrible hand injury in game 1, Ja Morant was sidelined for the previous game. Though the Grizzlies have managed to even the series, Morant’s absence is indeed an advantage for the Lakers. Anyhow, Morant’s return is uncertain as he is currently termed ‘questionable’ for game 3.

Though LeBron James-led Lakers did not make use of Morant’s absence, they might have a chance for redemption in game 3. Anthony Davis who did not have an efficient game previously must take things into his own hands in order to dominate inside the paint. Outerbounding Jaren Jackson Jr. might not be an easy job.

However, this is the playoffs.
