The struggles for the Dallas Mavericks keep increasing as the regular season nears the end. Surrounded by a cloud of pressure already, the Mark Cuban-owned Mavericks had raised a protest a few days back after their controversial game against the Golden State Warriors. However, NBA’s reply has compounded the Mavs’ worries. After publicly confessing their feelings about missing a former guard, Luka Doncic and Mark Cuban continue to spiral downwards.

A few games away from elimination, the heat around Luka Doncic and Dallas Mavericks is at its peak, as the team’s appearance in playoffs remains a doubt. And the Mavs were certainly not helped by the NBA’s latest ruling regarding their protest from a few games ago.

Nothing in favor of Luka Doncic-led Dallas Mavericks

Ever since their trade for veteran guard Kyrie Irving, the Dallas Mavericks have struggled to bag crucial wins. Consecutive losses have put the team out of the play-in tournament at the moment. Standing as the 11th seed, the Mavs have not been in a great position ever since they got rid of Jalen Brunson to the Knicks.?

Slovenian guard Luka Doncic mentioned, “I miss him” when asked about playing with Brunson even after having Kyrie Irving by his side. Mark Cuban, after several months, opened up about why the organization got rid of the veteran guard, which came as a ‘shocker’?for the NBA world. In addition to their regret of missing a key player, the Mavs’ recent protest did not go their way.?

The NBA gave a justification as to why the Mavs’ protest was declined. The league mentioned in the notice, “The incident occurred nearly 14 minutes remaining in the game, and Dallas thereafter took the lead twice in the final four minutes. Under these circumstances, Dallas was not able to show– as required under the standard for NBA game protests– that it was deprived a fair opportunity”.

In addition, the NBA believes Mark Cuban’s tweet on the game was inaccurate.

What happened during the Warriors vs Mavericks?

In their game against the Golden State Warriors on 23rd March, the Warriors received a free bucket due to a miscommunication by the referees. Moreover, the Mavericks lost the game exactly by two points. Mark Cuban vented his frustration on Twitter, mentioning the “Worst officiating non-call mistake possibly in the history of the NBA.”

Further, the billionaire owner went on to raise a protest against the referees for the poor officiating. However, the NBA did not approve of it. Amid their current predicament, the Mavs would have loved to receive support from the league. Nevertheless, the Mavs’s full fucos remains on the remaining two games of the regular season.??
