LaMelo Ball shares Michael Jordan’s nickname
LaMelo Ball spoke to the press recently and when asked about his relationship with Michael Jordan, LaMelo shared an interesting nickname he has for ‘His Airness’. Ball also revealed how he has been watching highlights from Michael Jordan’s legendary career, which he couldn’t witness live.

Ball said, “I call him ‘Unc’… But yeah, I’ve seen highlights and stuff, my pops used to watch them and all that, so yeah I definitely seen him growing up.”
Ball has been a fantastic pickup for the Charlotte Hornets. Michael Jordan was very impressed with LaMelo’s ability, enough to give his blessing to the franchise to draft him with the third overall pick in the 2020 NBA draft. Since then, LaMelo has repaid the faith Jordan showed him with excellent performances that have helped elevate the Hornets franchise into being in line for playoff contention.

For the season, LaMelo is averaging 15 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists.
